Walsh College will offer a Certified Management Accountant (CMA®) exam preparation course beginning Oct. 18 at the Troy campus.
The course is designed to assist accounting students in preparing for their CMA exam.
The CMA designation is granted by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and signifies a mastery of principles and practice for corporate accountants and corporate finance professionals.
Walsh College Professor of Accounting John Black, CMA, CPA, CIA, chair of Accounting, Taxation, and Business Law, will lead the instruction, which also includes an online study component. Black has more than 36 years of industry experience, most recently with TRW Automotive LLC, where he ultimately received the TRW CFO Award.
“The CMA certification has been integral in my career success,” said Black. “I look forward to helping others earn this career achievement and advancing the reputation of management accounting.”
